Why do so many people have ongoing pain?
Headaches, Neck Pain, Back Pain, Extremity Pain, and so much more?
Could it be that the reason so many people continue suffering with pain and musculoskeletal problems be simply because they are either not getting treatment or getting the wrong treatment?
This would seem to be a very likely explanation.
Following the principle of Occam’s razor, the simplest explanation is often the best explanation.
If the most common treatments worked well, then we would not have the massive problem with musculoskeletal pain in our country.
It’s simply not working.
We know it’s not working because of the massive numbers of people suffering, the opiod crisis, and more including the millions of people that just deal with their pain every day while trying to do their best at home, work, and with their families.
The good news is that there is an ‘alternative.’
So many people are helped by a chiropractor after suffering for years seeing other doctors and specialists… only to finally get better after seeing a chiropractor.
Unfortunately, it’s a small percentage of those that should be seeing a chiropractor yet continue to have problems that could very likely be taken care of with the right treatment.
It is estimated that chiropractors treat more than 35 million Americans (adults and children) every year.
This represents a small percentage of the people with the same complaints that go see their primary care doctor which generally results in prescriptions for pain relievers, anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxers, maybe steroids, and frequently opiates like hydrocodone or tylenol 3.
The average patient that sees an MD before coming in to see us is prescribed 3 of those medications on the first visit to their family doctor.
The idea that people can get better without having to rely on medications, injections, and surgery with chiropractic often isn’t considered by a person suffering with pain.
It’s just not something that most people know much about and it’s unfortunate because it leads to many people suffering needlessly.
Unfortunately it’s also something that most MDs don’t know anything about either which is why they don’t often refer to chiropractors, even when it would be the best option for their patient.
The majority of these people that are suffering in pain have a physical problem.
The types of physical problems vary and can be complicated, but they are physical.
It would seem to make sense that physical problems would be best treated with physical treatment like chiropractic is known for using.
What do chiropractic patients think about chiropractic care?
95% of past year chiropractic patients say it’s effective.
Maybe ‘alternative’ chiropractic care for musculoskeletal pain and injuries should become the new standard of care?
