All this time really adds up!
Last January, an article was published in the Journal, Annals of Internal Medicine.
The article discussed how people that sit more have higher rates of death from all causes, particularly heart disease, cancer, and diabetes!
Three huge health problems that we should all be concerned about!
In the article, premature death was found to be independent of other physical activity. (http://annals.org/articlx?articleid=2091327e.asp)
Best advice – use more active sitting or a standing desk if possible.
If not, get up and move at least every 30 minutes.
Do some movement, like walking if safe and possible, add in some basic stretches and movements like squats, calf raises, and shoulder shrugs.
Even though prolonged sitting probably increases your risk of many health problems independent of exercise…
Don’t neglect regular physical exercise.
It will have profound health benefits.
