Sleep Problems, Insomnia and Pain
Many people suffering from pain and ongoing, chronic pain experience insomnia and sleeping problems.
As many as 80% of people suffering with chronic pain have ongoing sleep difficulties also.
It effects so many people in the Texarkana area, reducing their quality of life and ability to perform as well as they could with a good night’s rest.
This is a complex relationship.
The cause of the sleep problem and the chronic pain can be the same.
Complicating the matter though is that pain interferes with sleep while loss of sleep increases your risk of more pain.
It sets up a viscous cycle where one worsens the other in an endless loop.
Back Pain and Sleep
Back pain is the most common type of chronic pain problem that people experience.
More than half of individuals with back pain frequently report significant interference with sleep with the greater the pain, the greater the sleep loss on average.
