Modifiable COVID-19 Risks
People are concerned about getting covid-19 and are spending a huge amount of time washing hands, using hand sanitizer, wearing masks, and avoiding everyone.
UK cardiologist, Aseem Malhotra, talks about what he calls the elephant in the room with COVID 19, your metabolic health (link below).
All the things above may provide some protection against getting the virus. We should take precautions and especially in the older and chronically sick population which we’ll get to in just a moment.
Our focus however must be on why getting the virus is such a huge problem for some people while others are fine or even develop no symptoms.
The elephant in the room is that the reason you may be at serious risk is that you over over weight and have type 2 diabetes/metabolic syndrome.
Bad news for so many Americans. The fantastic news is that you can quickly do something about it by getting your blood sugar down with what you eat (and not just your medications), exercising, and getting enough sleep.
