Chiropractic and Texarkana Sports Injuries.
Who Is The Best Sports Doctor To See In Texarkana?
It depends on your particular injury, but in general it’s best to start with a very conservative approach then move up the ladder of aggressive treatment as necessary.
You have so many different options ranging from general practice doctors, physical therapy, chiropractic, urgent care clinics, pain management doctors, orthopedists and surgeons.
The vast majority of sports injuries can be handled very effectively with an experienced Chiropractor that understands athletes… and that’s important.
I’ve seen 1000’s of Texarkana area people involved in car crashes since I began practicing here in 1999. I’ve become well known for helping Texarkana recover from crashes.
I didn’t start out as a Chiropractor seeing so many motor vehicle accidents and it’s definitely not all that I see!
I actually began my Chiropractic career helping athletes almost exclusively. I’ve always had the goal to help people perform better and had a strong athletic background myself.
Here’s why I enjoy treating athletes…
I went into Chiropractic with a very strong interest in natural health, diet, sports, and improving performance.
I’m a lifelong martial artist, predominantly in combat sports like wrestling, Judo, Kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
I entered Chiropractic school in 1994, at a time when I was still competing in Judo and then during school Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well.
I was also an avid weightlifter and had been a runner for so many years.
This meant that as I began seeing patients at my first practice in Dallas, virtually all of them were athletes with injuries.
These athletes often had injuries from training and/or competing in their sports to their spine or extremities that interfered with their training and performance.
As a result during the first 3 years of my practice, I saw predominately sports injuries (and I’ve been able to continue working with so many athletes since then).
I would help them recover from injuries (often to their various areas of their arms and legs, not only the spine), improve movement patterns, posture, and ways they could improve other factors with diet, sleep, lifestyle, supplemental training to stretch, strength, and otherwise improve neuro-musculoskeletal function.
I’ve been fortunate enough to help so many different types of athletes over the years.
I’ve helped people ranging from recreational golfers, weight lifters, runners, triathletes, martial artists, MMA fighters, and tennis players to high school football players, baseball players, soccer, volleyball, basketball, rodeo, to pro soccer players, pro golfers, and so many others.
In chiropractic, there are many different types of doctors and Chiropractic Practices (even here in Texarkana)… many Doctors of Chiropractic (DC stands for Doctor of Chiropractic) focus only on the spine, some see extremity injuries, some work with their patients on lifestyle and dietary change, others help people with rehab / prehab to help reduce injury recurrence.
I do all these things because I’ve found over the last 19 years of practicing that this holistic treatment approach works best for people suffering from pain and injuries AND in those wanting to improve their sports performance and reduce risk of future injury.
