A Chiropractor as a primary care doctor?
Does the type of doctor you see determine your treatments and how healthy you are?
A 3 year study of data compared 2 types of primary care doctors for treatment, medical doctor versus a doctor of chiropractic.
This is very important for several reasons including health care costs, higher risk treatments, and ultimately outcomes… how you do in the long term.
When primary care provider is a chiropractor compared to conventional medicine management:
• 60% fewer hospital admissions.
• 59% less hospital days.
• 62% less outpatient surgeries.
• 85% decrease in pharmaceutical costs.
These findings are really shocking when you think about it.
It suggests that the treatment you get is just the result of your treating doctor’s opinion and…
…maybe you don’t need to be hospitalized (or possibly Chiropractic treatment may help reduce hospitalizations), you may not need surgery, and that you may not need nearly as much medications as you would otherwise be prescribed (or like the hospitalization, it may be that Chiropractic care reduces need for medications).
It really makes sense to start with seeing the most conservative provider that offers the lowest risk treatment first for so many healthcare problems that you may experience.
We’ve previously looked at so many different studies that have shown Chiropractic care is equal to or better than much more aggressive treatments ranging from medications to surgeries.
