The Texas Medical Association in it’s constant legal assault on Chiropractic (and virtually every other health profession) filed a frivolous lawsuit against the Texas Chiropractic Board.
This is an ongoing, never ending tactic by large Medical Associations that attempts to limit Chiropractic.
It’s an extension of what the AMA did for about 100 years where ultimately they were found guilty of anti-trust laws and conspiring to eliminate the competition (Chiropractic) in the US Supreme Court case Wilks versus the AMA.
This is not about individual medical doctors or chiropractors. It’s about a large political organization attempting to damage another profession.
This new attack exploits unclear language in the Texas Chiropractic definition.
Texas House Bill 2733 clarifies the role of the nervous system in chiropractic and help put an end to TMA’s frivolous lawsuit against the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
Texas HB 2733 does NOT expand scope – it simply ensures Texas chiropractors can continue treating neuro-musculoskeletal conditions like headaches, ‘pinched‘ nerves, sciatica, low back pain, and much more.
Conditions that Chiropractors have always treated with exceptional success.
Without this clarification, people suffering with so many problems that could be helped by Chiropractors would not have the option instead would increase medications including opiates, spinal injections, and surgeries.
All these treatments have a place in the right person at the right time. It doesn’t make sense to move people away from safe, conservative care that is very likely to help them get better and force them into more aggressive treatments right away.
Unfortunately, this important bill has still not received a vote in the House Public Health Committee.
Please call these lawmakers at the numbers below and (1) kindly thank them for giving the bill a hearing, and (2) ask them to vote on HB 2733 in the next Committee meeting this week.
Please be polite to the representative’s office.
