Is Your Perception of Reality Correct?
Chiropractic Beyond Pain Relief…
Chiropractic is commonly associated with recovery from injury, soft tissue healing, pain relief, and improving movement.
This short video explains how our brain relies upon information from the environment through many different receptors in the body including the most overlooked sensation coming from our muscle, tendons, and joints that drives our brain’s activity and perception of what is happening.
Abnormal brain input can result in abnormal brain output.
This might mean that we lose some coordination, develop an abnormal posture or muscle tone, have a change in blood flow and fuel delivery, or as this short video indicates maybe it changes our thoughts among so many other things.
Our bodies are exceptionally complex.
Every part of our body is important and changes or problems in one have an effect on our entire system to varying degrees.
For example if you lose some movement of your neck due to injury or other reason then your brain then loses some very important information about where our head and neck are in space.
This abnormal sensation can lead to abnormal movement, abnormal muscle control, changes in posture, changes in the way we perceive where our bodies are in space, possibly vertigo, possible changes in fuel delivery (through blood vessels), and probably a greater risk of injury.
Will all these things happen?
Probably not or at least very likely not all at the same time and to the same degree.
It depends on so many things.
All we can say is that if you lose movement of a part of your neck that the brain will be effected and that could have any number of ‘side effects.’
What they are depends on you and how everything else in your body and your nervous system are working.
This is obviously important for athletes as they need to have good information from their bodies for better coordination and performance.
It’s equally important for you, performing at home, on the job, and for your kids to perform their best as well.
Chiropractors identify dysfunctional areas so that they can restore appropriate information flow between the body and the brain.
This can have serious positive ‘side effects‘ because if you function better then you feel better and perform better.
In what ways?
It depends on you, your problems, and really the chiropractor’s approach to evaluation and treatment.
