The AMA Recommends Chiropractic Before Surgery For Back Pain.
The Journal of the American Medical Association article tells people suffering with Back Pain to see a Chiropractor for Chiropractic Treatments before even considering more aggressive treatments like surgery.
This common sense approach to treating Back Pain means starting with the safest, least aggressive treatments that are likely to help are used before moving up the spectrum of aggressive treatment.
Chiropractic Care often helps people suffering from so many common problems for which surgery is often seen as the only option.
This includes back pain when Physical Therapy fails to help, arthritis, disc injuries, sciatica, nerve problems, muscle spasms, and much more.
Surgery is rarely necessary for back pain of various causes.
Surgery should only be considered when other conservative methods fail to help the patient recover well enough… but even when conservative care like Chiropractic fails, it doesn’t necessarily mean that surgery will help the person.
It might.
Unfortunately, surgery might be necessary in certain problems. It depends on the individual and their specific problem.
Some cases do still require surgery but…
Wouldn’t it make sense to try Chiropractic Care first before making the big, irreversible decision to have surgery for a problem that very well may get better just by seeing a good Texarkana Chiropractor?
So many people suffer needlessly and go through very difficult treatment without ever even seeing a Chiropractor first.
Unfortunately, most people aren’t told by their Medical Doctor to see a Chiropractor before they’re referred to a surgeon like an orthopedist or a neuro-surgeon.
In most cases, this is simply because their Medical Doctor is very likely not familiar with Chiropractic and what Chiropractic Care can help.
Obviously if an MD does not understand Chiropractic or what Chiropractic Treatment can help… they won’t feel comfortable recommending it to their patients that are suffering from problems that could be helped (and they shouldn’t which is why the FDA recommendation makes sense).
This is why the FDA recently recommended that MDs find out more about Chiropractic.
Chiropractic Treatment Makes Sense Before Surgery, But We Can Also Help Most People After Surgery Also.
We often help patients after surgery that are still experiencing problems that the surgery didn’t help or a few years after when the areas above and below the surgery begin to cause them pain and other issues.
