Healthcare, Pain, Injuries, and Disease.
A quick question, when you go see your doctor are you going in for HEALTHcare or to manage symptoms and diseases?
It’s an important question because there is a big difference.
What we often mistakenly called HEALTHcare isn’t really about health if you’re seeing a doctor who helps with disease management or some crisis.
This isn’t to minimize the importance of our medical community. They’re very important.
It’s just to suggest that managing a disease or symptoms are about sick and crisis care.
Different types of doctors help people improve HEALTH.
They’re called Chiropractors… yes of course Chiropractors treat people who have pain, injuries, headaches, etc BUT Chiropractors really help people improve function and health whether they have pain/injuries or not.
Good chiropractors do this with helping people with their various complaints but also importantly helping them improve their health so that they are better able to improve their function and reduce their risks of health problems.
Chiropractors are best known for the use of adjustments to improve musculoskeletal injuries and pain in the spine and extremities. In addition Chiropractors use various types of therapy and rehabilitation to further improve the functional problems.
However we, as Chiropractors, do more by offering advice on how to change lifestyle factors that either help create disease or help improve health… with things like diet, exercise, sleep, and more.
This is real HEALTHcare that is about improving health rather than only managing illness or symptoms.
Both types of doctors are important.
You just need to see the right one for the right reason and not confuse the two… and you very likely need to see both.
