Vitamin D3, Sun Exposure, and Pain Perception in Fibromyalgia
Many people are deficient and this might be even more true with fibromyalgia sufferers. Getting out in the sun can help get the levels up, as can D3 supplementation.
A recent study in the Journal Pain supports this idea.
“The role of calcifediol (vitamin D) in the perception of chronic pain is a widely discussed subject. Low serum levels of calcifediol are especially common in patients with severe pain and fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS).
Optimization of calcifediol levels in FMS had a positive effect on the perception of pain. This economical therapy with a low side effect profile may well be considered in patients with FMS.”
In other words, Vitamin D3 was cheap, has a low side effect potential, and reduced fibromyalgia pain.
Has your doctor checked your vitamin D levels or suggested supplementation?
It may be a good idea to help you reduce pain.
By the way, vitamin D has also been shown to help reduce asthma attacks and even prevent more colds and flu than flu vaccines.
Many lifestyle changes can help with the symptoms and problems associated with fibromyalgia.
Of course, so many people suffering with fibromyalgia get significant relief with chiropractic care.

Other vitamins may be deficient including various B vitamins.
It’s important to work with a good doctor that can guide you through diet and supplementation that will be appropriate for you, so that you can improve your pain levels.
Exercise is another important factor in recovery, but the right exercise at the right time is the best approach.
