Study Demonstrates that Chiropractic Care Helps People with Back Related Leg Pain Get Out Of Pain More Quickly.
People who suffer with back related leg pain often suffer more than those without radiating leg pain resulting in more missed days from work, greater pain, and more expensive (and often invasive) medical care.
Researchers recently published a study in the Annals of Internal Medicine (2014) that found chiropractic can be highly beneficial to lower back related leg pain in the short term.
The researchers studied a group of people that had been suffering from lower back related leg pain for at least a month and were on medications.
The participants were split into 2 groups.
One group was given home exercises and home care advice while the other received the same exercises and advice while also receiving chiropractic care.
Chiropractic Treatment = Faster Pain Relief
After 12 weeks of treatment, twice as many individuals in the group receiving spinal manipulation experienced at least a 75% reduction in symptoms than the group not receiving the spinal manipulation.
Chiropractic Treatment = Less Medication Needed
Another added benefit was that only 56% of the manipulation treated group were still on medication at the end of the 12 weeks, as opposed to 63% for the home exercise group (that did not have manipulation).
Researchers concluded that, chiropractic provides good short-term relief for back-related leg pain making it a good option to consider.
In other words, the people treated with chiropractic manipulation got out of pain more quickly than those that did not have chiropractic treatment.

Even in people that have been suffering with chronic back pain, chiropractic has been shown to help.
