High omega 6 to omega 3 ratio predicts mood disorders in high risk people.
‘Vegetable‘ (seed) oils is very high in omega 6 fats.
Fish oil is high in omega 3 fats (as are wild cold water fish).
The balance of these 2 types of fats is important for many processes in the body.
Of course this study found an association and doesn’t prove cause.
However most people are getting far too much 6 and far too little 3 fats.
This does drive inflammation and other processes that are harmful to the body, including our most important organ – our brains.
